Research
VTC Research Staff assist with a wide range of tourism-related data analysis and gathering, including visitor profiles, market share, the economic impact of tourism on the state and localities, and the VTC's advertising and marketing campaigns. The goal of the Research branch is to provide detailed and timely information for those in the Commonwealth who are interested in the area of tourism development.
Current Trends
- This page contains the most recent “Tourism Dashboard” as well as trend data for items included within the “Tourism Monitor.” Included are airport passenger data, car rental sales, gasoline sales, inquiry fulfillment, lodging trends, state & national park visitation, Virginia.org web stats, and welcome center visitation trends.
Economic Impact
- This page contains a link to a customizable database where you can explore and compare the economic impact of travelers' spending for any locality in Virginia.
