Once you have become certified “Virginia Green” let the visitors to Virginia know it!
Your lodging listing on Virginia.org will have the Virginia Green logo and the 5 million annual visitors to the site can find you by searching our Green Lodging. Virginia.org is ready to take Virginia Green to the next level and, quite simply, we need your help.
Virginia.org is seeking green packages, promotions and discounts, and eco-friendly events.
The criterion we have set forth to determine what is considered a green promotion or discount is simple.
You will find a checkbox in the Virginia.org Administration Tool for “Green” as a subcategory*. You may check “Green” if your package**, promotion or discount includes at least one of the following:
- A stay at a Virginia Green certified lodging facility
- Dining provided by a Virginia Green certified restaurant (where available)
Also include – Activities that are environmentally friendly (recycling on site, walking/biking encouraged, an eco tour is included, etc.)
Green Events
An eco-friendly/green event may embrace environmental, wildlife and/or preservation education. It must recycle and instill “leave-no-trace” practices.
