    2017 Virginia Agritourism Conference: Agritourism in Virginia’s New Economy

    Virginia’s United Land Trusts is partnering with the Statewide Trails Advisory Committee (STAC) for this year’s Virginia Land Conservation and Greenways Conference.  Join us to hear an engaging and dynamic line up of speakers.  The conference will kick off with fantastic field trips on Tuesday afternoon:  Bike Ride on the Virginia Capital Trail, Walk and Talk on the Greensprings Trail, and Canoe Taskinas Creek at York River State Park.

    The Adventure Tourism and Outdoor Recreation program at Southwest Virginia Community College will provide training to develop a workforce for the outdoor recreation industry and to stimulate economic development. The Adventure Tourism and Outdoor Recreation programs, activities and events at Southwest Virginia Community College are a unique blend of entrepreneurship, tourism, and recreation. Whether you are interested in starting your own adventure tourism businesses, work for an outdoor based business, become a guide or outfitter, work in a local, state or national park, gain knowledge to keep yourself safe or just have fun, we have the program, activity or event for you.     VECTEC offers Matching Grant for Electronic Marketing Services

    The Virginia Electronic Commerce Technology Center (VECTEC) offers a wide array of education programs including Technology Short Courses, Web Site Workshops and Electronic Commerce Forums across the state of Virginia. Vectec, Inc. is a non-profit technology and education solutions center.  Their mission is to promote economic competitiveness and development by sponsoring, developing and implementing eServices for primarily small to medium sized businesses.     University of the Potomac Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management

    The University of the Potomac (UOTP) offers a Bachelor ofScience in Hospitality and Tourism Management (BS-HTM) degree that prepares students for managerial positions in the hospitality and tourism industry, as well as for the development of human resources in this field.

    The UOTP is seeking to initiate Strategic Partnerships with organizations and businesses in the hospitality and tourism industry.  Located in Northern Virginia and in Washington DC, classes are offered totally online.

      The partnership would include:
    • Discounted educational opportunities group participation at the AS, BS and Masters level
    • Work Study programs for students in the BS-HTM program
