It is the leading resource for both visitors and existing Lynchburgers to discover and experience the City.
The Lynchburg Experience Manager coordinates placemaking and entrepreneurial activities for the Office of Economic Development and Tourism. In addition, the position oversees the daily operation of the Lynchburg Experience Center, formerly the known as the Lynchburg Visitors Center located at 12th and Church Streets in Downtown Lynchburg. The Manager represents the City of Lynchburg to citizens and visitors, clearly and enthusiastically representing the Lynchburg brand.

Performs complex administrative work developing, planning, organizing and implementing tourism programs and specials events for the County, coordinating the operation of the County’s visitor center including scheduling and supervising staff, preparing and maintaining records, files and reports, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Fields of Gold Agritourism Coordinator
Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission
Seeking a highly organized, creative, people-person to carry out the goals and objectives of the Fields of Gold Agritourism program. Ability and experience to oversee and manage the day-to-day activities of the program, follow an annual work plan, and organize committees. Experience in the development and implementation of marketing plans and familiar with the strategic use of social media, website and other marketing tools including print advertisement, promotional materials, and working with the press. Ability to organize and coordinate, events and educational workshops. The successful individual will be knowledgeable about the region’s agricultural community, farmers markets, local/regional food systems, and resources available to farmers. Ability to work with a diverse group of stakeholders including volunteer board and committee members, state and federal funding agencies, local, private, and non-profit partners, farmers, agritourism business operators, farmers market managers, and others. Experience in program coordination, project management, public speaking, grant writing and fundraising preferred. Some weekend work may be required. Requires a four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. This is a part-time position with a salary range of $18-$22 per hour with partial benefits.
