Research
VTC Research Staff assist with a wide range of tourism-related data analysis and gathering, including visitor profiles, market share, the economic impact of tourism on the state and localities, and the VTC's advertising and marketing campaigns. The goal of the Research branch is to provide detailed and timely information for those in the Commonwealth who are interested in the area of tourism development.
Current Trends
- This page contains the most recent “Tourism Dashboard” as well as trend data
for items included within the “Tourism Monitor.” Included are airport passenger data, car rental sales, gasoline sales, inquiry fulfillment, lodging trends, state & national park visitation, taxable sales reports, Virginia.org web stats, and welcome center visitation trends.
Other documents include the "Monthly Travel Barometer", a timely gauge of visitation to Virginia's attractions, parks and travel information centers.

Visitation
