New Group Travel Planner Now Available from Virginia Tourism Corporation
RICHMOND, Va. – The 2008-2009 Virginia Group Travel Planner is now available from the Virginia Tourism Corporation and is packed full of information to help plan for memorable and unique group trips in Virginia.
The new planner includes the most up-to-date listing of more than 75 Virginia-based charter, receptive and tour companies and sections on student tours, girls’ getaways, heritage trails, theater and music, grandparent/grandkid tours, scenic byways, African American tours and Virginia’s small town “Main Street” experiences. Sample itineraries are in abundance and local contact information is included.
A special section of the Group Travel Planner highlights Virginia’s wineries as tour stops. Virginia was recently named one of five “up-and-coming” wine regions in the world by Travel + Leisure, and with little wonder. More than 130 wineries now dot the Virginia landscape and the Group Travel Planner identifies more than 80 that are good for groups.
Each of Virginia’s nine distinct tourism regions receives its own section of the planner. Included is information on all DMOs in each region along with airports, diesel fuel and bus services, guide services, conference centers, accommodations and attractions. Those who plan student travel will find the best in Standards of Learning-based programming at attractions throughout the state.
Virginia’s group attractions employ the most modern amenities and courtesies, harkening to the notion that hospitality is not just an industry by word. The 2008-2009 Virginia Group Tour Planner is free and can be ordered by calling 1-800-759-0886 or by visiting www.Virginia.org/group.
