Virginia Tourism Corporation has thousands of images available for use by Media.

VTC Digital Image Usage Policies

The Virginia Tourism Corporation maintains a comprehensive digital library of images from around the Commonwealth - available free to media and the travel industry upon request. These photos may be used to accompany an editorial or feature on Virginia travel, to illustrate a Virginia travel brochure or in a presentation. Some of the images are available for use on Virginia travel-related internet sites. All Advertising or Commercial use is strictly prohibited.

The loan terms are the same for the photo CD files, and digital image files. The images in our digital image library are available in JPG, TIFF, GIF or PCD formats. Most of these images were taken by world-renowned travel photographers and writers.

Requests: All digital images are available for download from VTC’s FTP site. Once your image request has been submitted to and reviewed by Georg Horvath, you will be given access to the FTP site to download your images. Please provide image requirements; subject, locale/place, type of image, deadline, contact information, how image is to by used, with all image requests.

USAGE RIGHTS AND CREDITS

Usage:  The grant of rights is conditioned for a one-time use only and the stated purpose requested for use. All other rights are reserved to Virginia Tourism Corporation.  The authorization of other rights is negotiable and follows general ASMP practices.  Any alteration, manipulation or derivation from the photographs/digital images must be specifically authorized in writing by Virginia Tourism Corporation.  The photographs/digital images may not be placed in any electronic cataloging or electronic delivery service without the express written permission of Virginia Tourism Corporation.

After-use: Client must delete, destroy or remove image files from any storage medium after project is complete. Client agrees to furnish one tear page, PDF file, or copy of publication in which the photographs appear.

Return of image CD/files: Client agrees to return all photographs or CD discs (if requested), safe and undamaged by airfreight, private courier, or registered or Express Mail. Client must delete or remove image files from any storage medium after project is complete.

Credit Line:  Adjacent credit line must accompany editorial use. Photographs are to be credited to the photographer where indicated. Client agrees to identify each subject published and its location in Virginia. Credit to the Virginia Tourism Corporation is not required, but appreciated.
