If you’re passionate about spring, April is the prefect month to celebrate in Virginia  where gardens come alive during Virginia’s 75th Historic Garden Week. Tour some of the more  than 250 homes, gardens and landmarks. In Richmond, admire A Million Blooms at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, which artistically showcases gardens of daffodils, cherry blossoms, tulips, iris, roses and peonies.

If spending time with your family is your passion, fly high at the Blue Ridge Kite Festival in Salem or the Atlantic Coast Kite Festival in Virginia Beach.  Visit Winchester for the 81st annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, where the entire family can enjoy a fireworks display, a blue grass festival and more. Travel to the “Redbud Capitol of the World” in the Heart of Appalachia for the Honaker Redbud Festival, which includes  country craft and antique car shows, a canoe race, gospel singing and nature walks.

Indulge your passion for music in Abingdon as you enjoy jazz preformed by more than 40 artists in the Highlands Jazz Festival. Dance the night away in 18th century attire in Alexandria during the 18th Century Grand Ball at Gadsby’s Tavern; and celebrate the Irish, Scottish and Welsh cultures at the Celtic Festival at Big Island.

Creative cats can get in touch with their artistic side at the Virginia Arts Festival in Hampton Roads, spend a few days in Fairfax for the three-week Spotlight on the Arts Festival or shop for handcrafted products at the Fredericksburg Spring Arts & Crafts Faire.

In Hampton, savor a bit of the good life at the Crab & Blues Fest.  If barbecue and fast cars are more your speed, enjoy the best of both worlds in Danville  at the 7th annual Racin' and Tastin.'
