Grants Opportunities
Tourism and the Arts Marketing Program Applications are now open
The Virginia Commission for the Arts and VTC are partnering to offer a special grant program for marketing initiatives related to tourism to help Virginia arts organizations with direct expenses related to tourism promotion efforts. Applications are due back to the Virginia Commission for the Arts on October 5, 2009.

And the Emmy goes to ...the Loudoun County Visitors Association. Congratulations to LCVA and President and CEO Cheryl Kilday, for the honor, awarded by the Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The award was given for the association's Loudoun Heritage Series, which debuted last May and is designed to highlight various aspects of life in Loudoun County To view the five winning videos and the entire Loudoun Heritage Series, visit www.visitloudoun.org.
Congratulations also to the winners of this year's 48 Hour Film Project, an international competition during which teams of filmmakers write, shoot and edit short films based in only 48 hours. Lindsey Zuecher and the Detroit Police Athletic League Golf Tournament won for Neighborhood Watch and Grayson Wolfe and Idyl King Entertainment for The Sea of Trees. Both entries will go on to the national competition.
