President's Notes

Alisa BaileyResearch is an essential building block for tourism marketing and tourism office funding investment. In that vein, we were asked to find cost effective solutions for the industry’s research challenges.  As such, I am pleased to announce a rather new partnership with the Virginia Commonwealth University’s Center for Public Policy.  VCU through an inter-agency agreement with VTC has formed a partnership to provide economic impact analyses, feasibility studies, and custom research at greatly reduced fees (40 – 60% savings).  All Virginia tourism entities – including local tourism offices, tourist attractions, special events, etc. – are able to take advantage of this special offer.  Studies done through this program will be made available to the industry through the VTC.  More details are available online at http://vatc.org/research/VTC-VCU_Research_Partnership_Material.pdf
Sound research makes for great marketing.
