President's Notes

I am pleased to announce that the FY2007 Virginia Visitor Profile – detailing trips taken between July 2006 and June 2007 – is now available to Virginia’s travel industry.

Did you know three quarters of all travel to Virginia is for leisure and that more than 1 in 10 visitors to the Commonwealth engage in a family reunion? You can find this and more interesting facts and valuable information within the new visitor study.

The 17 pages worth of information includes: purpose of travel, travel party characteristics, destinations visited, activities engaged in, visitor origins, trip satisfaction, and much more. Customized visitor profiles are also available for larger regions and segments. To learn more please go to http://www.vatc.org/research

We are continuing to work to promote Virginia as a world-class travel destination and build on the momentum from 2007. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
