President's Notes

Watching history unfold in Virginia is what it is all about this month.  From the royal visit by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her historic address to the General Assembly in the newly restored state Capitol, to the presidential visit by George W. Bush during Anniversary weekend in Virginia’s historic triangle, our state and our tourism offerings will be getting world-wide attention.   And that’s just the beginning!

This publicity will result in interest by our visitors to experience other parts of the state, see new museum expansions, participate in new fairs and festivals, travel down newly developed trails that interpret America’s history.  With more than 100 official Jamestown communities across the Commonwealth, there is more to see and do.

This year of working in partnership promises to bring more people, to stay longer and spend more money in Virginia. Best wishes on your 2007 summer season.
