President's Notes

Thank You!

As Virginia commemorates America’s 400th Anniversary at Jamestown, our Tourism industry has excelled at unifying to offer visitors exciting, engaging and unique travel experiences statewide. Towards these efforts, VTC is excited to launch the Jamestown 2007 ‘Thank You’ campaign, which honors the Virginia Indians, African Americans, and European colonists who made Jamestown the most intriguing story in America’s history.

Our campaign will complement the efforts of Jamestown 2007 offices and all of our many Jamestown partners throughout the Commonwealth. The success of this campaign is dependent upon our grass roots efforts to extend the message that 2007 is THE YEAR to visit Virginia.  We need your help. Please take time to visit, enjoy and share the powerful stories you’ll find at www.Jamestown1607.org.

Important PR Tip for Travel Destinations
Society of American Travel Writer Janet Groene reminds destinations to put a phone number for consumers on your Website and news releases. "Keep in mind that many of us write for editors who require the phone number, along with the Who, What, When and Where that goes into any good journalism. When I can't find a consumer number or one of the other crucial W's in three clicks or less, I must move on to the next release."
