Virginia's
new industry Website — VATC.org — was
created with the guidelines and standards proposed by the Virginia
Information Technologies Agency. In order to guarantee access to
all Virginians, any Website that is the property of the Commonwealth
of Virginia must meet federal and state accessibility laws.
Please visit the Website and contact the Webmaster if you have any
comments or questions: webmaster@virginia.org
With
the opening this summer of the new state-of-the-art, environmentally
friendly Winchester and Fredericksburg Welcome Centers, there
will be more advertising opportunities for industry partners.
Reserve your brochure space today! Please contact Fran Grimm
at fgrimm@virginia.org or 804.545.5520 for more information.
Speakers
at last month's PRSA/SATW Travel & Tourism Conference in
L.A. emphasized that a destination with interactive technology
cannot expect to control the conversation, but it must be willing
to engage in relevant conversation over the Internet, such
as in blogs. For those blogs that have the most credibility,
visit technorati.com.
Also notice what blogs come up most often after performing
a search on any subject. If you regularly submit announcements
to electronic journalists in Virginia, who you feel should be receiving VTC's news, please send the email addresses to Georg Horvath at GHorvath@Virginia.org
American
Heritage magazine is scheduled to stop publishing. Smithsonian,
a long-time favorite of Virginia industry partners, will replace American
Heritage on the 18-month advertising media calendar. October is the first
Virginia co-op issue and space deadline is July 10. Only 1/12 and 1/6 ads will be sold. Image and copy required; camera-ready ads will not be accepted. Please contact Marie Isabelle at 800.280.2069 x21 or marie@mi-ms.com
