President's Notes

As you know, a target market for VTC is the Affluent Traveler, a higher end tourist who stays longer and spends more money. Virginia is strategically placed to attract this tourist who enjoys unique lodging, scenic vistas, small town shopping, fine dining and, yes, delicious Virginia wines. In our efforts to attract the wealthy weekender, VTC embarked on a fun initiative to celebrate October as Virginia Wine Month. Titled ‘Virginia’s Stomping Grounds’ VTC is enticing visitors through an integrated campaign with wine touring, festivals, dining, fall colors, music, art, shopping and activities such as grape stomping and hot air balloons. Please encourage your visitors to enter to win a trip to Wine Camp Weekend at Lansdowne Resort. Reach out to your local winery and help them make October Virginia Wine month a success.

bullet Admin Tool Tip

Adding and Updating Listings
Everyone likes to save time.  With that in mind, before you create a new listing, first check your User Account and Virginia.org to see if the listing already exists to avoid duplications and extra work.  If the listing is currently in your account, simply click “Make Changes” so that you may begin making any updates to the listing.  Also, delete any listings from your account that you will not be updating, and delete those for businesses that have closed. For questions, please contact Angela Wiggins at 804-545-5553 or awiggins@virginia.org.

bullet If you have comments or suggestions for future issues of The Dashboard please contact Sandy Westmoreland at swestmoreland@virginia.org or 804-545-5557.
