As the entire tourism industry gears up for the summer season, we all are looking forward to new and innovative ways to reach the lucrative East Coast market.  Several initiatives are underway at VTC and we need your help.

First, we’ll be engaged in some aggressive marketing as we join Jamestown 2007 on the Godspeed Sail up the East Coast, not only reaching tourists and media but also a sales mission to AAAs and tour operators.

Secondly, its time to place your ad in our travel guide. Our goal is 800,000 (which we ran out of last year) and 200,000 electronic guides.

Finally, there are two new features on our highly successful website:  Getaways and Journeys of Passion.  We will be doing considerable advertising driving consumers to those areas of the site.  For more information go to www.vatc.org.

    Virginia Tourism Update

    Mission Impossible III
Have you seen the movie trailer for MI3 starring Tom Cruise? If the bridge looks familiar, it's because it's the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The film also includes scenes in Richmond's Shockoe Bottom and Northern Virginia's 14th Street Bridge that connects Arlington County and Washington, D.C. Other locations in Virginia include the Hampton Roads Eastern Shore regions. The director, J.J. Abrams, has also directed television's Lost and Alias.
