Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel

8:00 a.m. Meet in the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Lobby
The Sheraton Hotel is located in downtown Norfolk along the Elizabeth River. The recently renovated Sheraton has gorgeous state-of-the-art conference facilities, including 16 meeting rooms and more than 35,000 square feet of event space.
8:05 a.m. Depart the Sheraton for Waterside Marina
8:15 a.m. Board the Paddlewheel Ferry to Portsmouth
HRT’s operates three 150-passenger paddlewheel ferries on the Elizabeth River between Norfolk and Portsmouth. They travel between North Landing and High Street in Portsmouth and the Waterside festival marketplace in Norfolk. They’re fast, economical and offer a unique view of the river and the waterfront. Ferries operate every 30 minutes with 15-minute service during the summer at peak times on weekends. 8:35 a.m. Arrive in Portsmouth and visit the Portsmouth Visitor Center
Meet the friendly staff while visiting with your peers at this certified center. Check out the "Lightship Portsmouth collection" at the Visitor Information gift shop. Display cases exhibit the various offerings of Olde Towne merchants. Boaters traveling the Intracoastal Waterway are provided with information relevant to transient boaters, such as the closest marinas and marine supply centers.

9:15 a.m. Depart for Macarthur Square Light Rail Station
9:41 a.m. Ride The Tide
The Tide, Virginia’s first light rail, debuted in Norfolk on August 19, 2011.  It extends 7.4 miles from the Eastern Virginia Medical Center complex east through downtown Norfolk and adjacent to I-264 to Newtown Road.  Eleven stations provide access to dining, shopping and entertainment as well as the Norfolk State University and Tidewater Community College (Norfolk) campuses.  There are four park-and-ride lots where parking is always free. www.gohrt.com/services/the-tide

10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Chrysler Museum of Art
The Chrysler Museum of Art holds one of the largest and most comprehensive collections of glass in the world, with more than 10,000 glass objects spanning 3,000 years. Their most celebrated collection is that of work made by Louis Comfort Tiffany. www.chrysler.org

Chrysler Museum of Art Glass Studio
The Glass Studio, which opened in November 2011, is adjacent to the Museum in a modern, 7,000-square-foot facility. The Glass Studio will be equipped to accommodate aspiring and master artists alike. The state-of-the-art facility will support artists working in a variety of glassmaking processes, including blown glass, casting, fusing, flame working and cold working.

2:25 p.m. Depart for Waterside Marina
2:30 p.m. Board the Victory Rover for water cruise
Take a 1 ½ hour narrated cruise past Nauticus, home of the Battleship Wisconsin, the Norfolk Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center. Learn the history of the port of Norfolk. Thrill at the sight of Aircraft Carriers, Nuclear Submarines, Guided Missile Cruisers, and all of the other ships that call Naval Station Norfolk home. On board, enjoy plenty of comfortable seating,enclosed lower deck, open air upper deck, snack bar, souvenir shop and clean restrooms.
4:00-6:00 p.m. Free Time - Arrive at Waterside Marina and walk to Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel
Enjoy shopping at MacArthur Center Mall, visit with fellow attendees or just enjoy some quiet time.
6:15 p.m. Meet in Sheraton Lobby
6:30 p.m. Depart for dinner at the Virginia Arts Festival
