HistoryMobile HistoryMobile

VTC in partnership with The Virginia Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War Commission is leading the four-year tour of the Civil War 150 HistoryMobile. The 2011 events have been an overwhelming success with more than 16,000 visitors experiencing this unique “museum on wheels”.

This interactive mobile museum draws together stories from all over Virginia and encourages visitors to extend their experience by visiting important sites throughout the state. For the next 4 years the HistoryMobile will visit festivals, museums, fairs, schools, and other venues in the Commonwealth. When the HistoryMobile stops at its scheduled locations it attracts many tourists, families and groups who are interested in learning about Virginia’s history and the Civil War experience.  After which, many are interested in learning about other destinations, activities and tourism sites in the outlying areas.

HistoryMobile TentIn 2012 our industry partners will have the opportunity to expand their marketing efforts and target these visitors through brochure distribution and custom banner advertising.
